Arabic poetry

Next 8th March 2018 the third and last lecture of the cycle dedicated to the fables and poems of the Arab world will be held at the Art and History Library of San Giorgio in Poggiale in Bologna city center at 5 p.m. The lecture is of free entrance and will be chaired by Professor Ahmad Addous of Bologna University, who will talk about the Arabic poetical production.  

Fables and poems of the Arab world

The King Abdulaziz Chair for Islamic Studies promotes a series of lectures dedicated to the fables and poems of the Arab world open to all citizens. The lectures are of free entrance and will be held at the Art and History Library of San Giorgio in Poggiale, in Bologna city center. During the meetings lecturers will read and comment passages taken from fables and poems and will therefore present some of the most significant forms of the Arabic literature.

Fables of animals in the Arab tradition

Next 7th February 2018 the second lecture of the cycle dedicated to the fables and poems of the Arab world will be held at the Art and History Library of San Giorgio in Poggiale in Bologna city center at 5 p.m. The lecture is of free entrance and will be chaired by Professor Antonella Ghersetti from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, who will talk about “Fables of animals in the Arab tradition”.

Arabic Manuscripts Project: first results

The AMBULO Project (Arabic Manuscripts in the Bologna University Library Online) has actually started at the University Library of Bologna in September 2017 and it has been carried on by the company MIDA Informatica, following a public negotiation held in June 2017 as to assign the digitalization activities to the best public offer. All the activities have been managed by the King Abdulaziz Chair for Islamic Studies.
